Acorn School
Acorn school is an independent special school working with young people who are not able to flourish within main stream education. The school is located in Mid Devon and in a rural setting with a maximum of six pupils and a teaching staff of three; the class sizes are very small.
The school is able to follow the national curriculum although each young person has a very personalised personal education plan (PEP) which is designed to encourage learning and development.
All young people are able to achieve accredited qualifications which can count towards further education.
Wherever possible the school aims to reintegrate the young person into a main stream provision and this can be for as little as one hour per week, which can grow as the young person’s confidence and ability grows.
